In the late 1950’s, a young man by the name of Berry Gordy Jr. started a record label in the heart of Detroit, that he called Hitsville USA, It was here, that the Motown sound was born, Little did he know, his vision and the music that was create at Hitsville would change the world. The hits that came from Motown records crossed all racial, economic and social barriers, often called, during that time,the Sound of Young America. And it was this sound that would also be instrumental in the way the world listened to music.
